Penny's Lagoon in Egg Lagoon is a rare perched lake sitting above the water table, one of only three worldwide. The drive gets slightly bumpy but leads to a place of natural beauty good for family outings. Clear, fresh water makes it perfect for swimming, kayaking, and canoeing, with children often seen enjoying these activities. The surrounding area is great for a picnic, complete with picnic tables and good BBQ facilities. The lagoon's tranquility and picturesque setting also make it appealing for bird watching and walking. Its clean, well-maintained amenities add to visitor comfort. The journey, though a bit off the beaten path, rewards with peaceful ambiance and the opportunity to immerse in nature's splendor.

Generally No! The BBQs are first come, first serve. However, if you plan on having a larger event then please check with King Island council.

Aussie public BBQs are simple to use. Majority of sites listed on this website are gas or electric BBQs. Simply press the button and it will turn on for a set amount of time (10-20 minutes).

If you are convinced that the BBQ has issues, then contact King Island council and let them know it's faulty.

You should first check with King Island council about the rules and restrictions.

Generally, it is permissible to utilize your own gas BBQ, provided it remains under continuous supervision. However, the usage of Charcoal BBQ's is typically restricted, with the exception of parks equipped with designated charcoal disposal bins.
